Operation to Europeanize the eyelids

Sangapuri surgery lasts about 40-60 minutes and is most often performed under local anesthesia. At the request of the patient, it can always be performed under general anesthesia.

The incision is located at the site of the future fold of the eyelid, fatty hernias are removed and excess skin is excised. When suturing a surgical wound, deeper tissues are captured in the suture. In this case, the skin is sutured to the cartilaginous plate and the muscle that lifts the upper eyelid. Thanks to this manipulation, a European eye shape is formed. To eliminate epicanthus, local Z-plasty (method of opposing triangular flaps) is additionally performed at the inner corners of the eyes.

Sutures for Europeanization of the eyelids are applied intradermally.

Rehabilitation after Europeanization of eyelids

After Sangapuri surgery, discomfort, bruising and moderate swelling may persist for 7-10 days. The sutures are removed on the 5th day. After 3-6 months, postoperative scars will fade and become completely invisible.
